What do people expect from their dogs?

I ask this as I encountered some moron today.

Calling their dog back, which wasn't listening (was more interested in Bodhi).

She just stood there yelling "come 'ere sam - come 'ere!"

I carried on walking with Bo happily jumping around me for her ball.

I look back - lady has dog and is HITTING it with it's lead.

So I called to her "It'll never come back again if you hit it!!!"

Her response?

"well - he doesn't come back anyway!"



Stupid woman.

I said "That's because you HIT it!" (and refrained from adding profanity or DUH at the end).

She mumbled something about a waste of time and kept walking.

Now - what does she expect her dog to do, if she hits it when it goes to her?! Really?

I HOPEFULLY embarrassed her, as I watched her stop in the distance, call her dog and stroke him when he went to her.

Stooooooooooopid, thick woman.

I swear some people have no brains

i would have got my lead and hit her and then asked her 2 come back 4 more. then she may have got you.

I know - aftewards I thought I should have said

"I wouldn't go to you either if you were gonna HIT me"

or

"Come here" and then SLAPPED her

yeh thats the one slap the silly cow see how she likes it

I can feel for this morons frustration , as ive been there several times myself but can honestly say that one of the first things i learnt as a new dog owner years ago was never get upset ,or hit the dog when eventully it comes back usually looking extreamly pleased with itself ,god i must be mad .

She sounds a bit thick Bodhi! You only get back what your prepared to put in and it would appear she has not done any training with her dog.

Some people haven't a clue and don't deserve dogs.
