*little girl snatched from bath- what are your views? *

hi all

this has been playing on my mind ever since i seen it on the news on 27th december

http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/me...from_bath.html

the poor thing must have been terrified,, my reason for starting this thread??
I cant help thinking to myself
"what the hell where her parents doing?"
why was no one watching her?? how did a man manage to get into the house, into the bathroom and out of the house with a 6 year old girl without anyone noticing??
Im really quite angry about it and just wondered what you all think??

maybe im just old fashioned but shouldnt she have been supervised in some way??

When I first hears that I thought all the same things you did..........

Surely she screamed or struggled...someone in the house should have heard her

I can't understand it. My son is 13 yr old & i've always got my ear glued to the bathroom door.
Theres a lot of sick people out there. I wanted to join the police force last year. Thats another reason why i gave up smoking. I went out with warwickshire police & Thames Valley on there rounds. Its a real eye opener, obviously i can't say what i saw but they've got their hands full.
I live in a really small village called Stockton. I always thought nothing would happen in stockton, until 2 years ago when i was a whitness to a attempted abduction of my friends little girl. He'd tried to puttape round her mouth so that she couldn't scream. I was called to a identity parade. The guy was picked out & sentenced. He was from Stratford.

Where were the parents of this little girl. My mind boggles. Did she know this man, is that why she didn't scream & how did he know she was in the bath!

Another man in our village is in prison now for having pornographic images of children on his PC. His wife found them & reported him.

We should get rid of these human rights & bring back hanging!!!

Oh no. We should still have rights for humans, but these people should not be dignified with the term "human".

The first thing me and my OH said to each other when we were watching the news was "where were her parents?". The only thing I can think of is that some older houses have downstairs bathrooms. Maybe he saw her through an open window and got in that way. But again, in the time he got through a window couldn't she have escaped or at least called her mum? I'm loathe to speculate on such a sensitive issue but it's hard not to think there's more to it than meets the eye.

Whatever happened I feel so sorry for the little girl. The experience must have been terrifying for her, and so must all the media attention.

I couldn't agree more.

I also wandered upon hearing that about where her parents were at the time. I personally would never leave a 6 yr old alone in a bath for more than a minute or two at a time, call me paranoid if you wish but i'd be popping in and out regularly, at very least i'd be within earshot. At 6 they are still young and accidents can still happen, but thats just me. Which begs the question if the parents were near by, as mentioned before, did she know the man not to have screamed and how on earth did he manage not only to get into the house but get into the bathroom without being heard.

I just hope they catch that sick ********

thank god that you all see my point of view,, upon hearingthis story on the news i really did get het up!
my OH tried to reason with me saying things like "maybe it was a one parent family",, "there are things that we dont know" and "maybe her mother was too scared to intervene"!!

my reply was "david, can you imagine me coming home from work and you having to explain to me that not only did a man get into my house while there was an adult present, but he was able to snatch my daughter from the bath and abduct her without you noticing???"

his reply "i didnt think of it like that, i think you would probably kill me"

you are damned right i would,, i feel like this little girls parents have failed her very badly, they are there to protect and look after her and this should never have happened,, lots of things have gone through my mind about WHY the parents "may" have let this happen and i hope to god ive got them all wrong
this poor little girl is going to be traumatised for life and i cant help blaming her so called parents

You lot echo my thoughts exactly ...... what were the parents doing? I find it impossible to believe that a child can be snatched from the bath without a sound. Hope this evil ******* is caught and strung up by his n*ts!

i thought maybe i was just too old fashioned and panicky, but there is no way i would ever leave any of mind unattended in the bath, even at 6, i may not be in the bathroom but i would certainly be in clear earshot and hell mind anyone who tried to lay a finger on my babies
