I'm not being funny Stephanie but did this woman not realise that her retriever is almost the same size as Murphy, what was her problem! I feel sorry for her poor dog, it will be neurotic soon if it stays with her. I think Murphy was a hero to ignore the situation. Good on him!!! :smt041

silly moo! although i must admit (no offence intended) i'm a bit wary of rotti's it's not that i don't like them cos i do it's just the only rottis ive known are the bad ones by people who use them as guard dogs.

Reading your original message really made me laugh and also most of your replys, but i have to admit that i am a bit wary of any dog i dont know regaurdless of breed but maybe more so larger breeds, but over the last six months or so ive got to know some really nice dogs and people on my daily walks with gemma, and am proud to say that one of our friends is a rotti called sid who is such a big softie he really gives the lie to the bad press the breed so often gets.

it happens all the time with rotties im afraid . stupid ill educated people who belive rotties are devil dogs .. my oh was like that two . i soon reeducated him !

I have to be honest I am always cautious aroung Staffy's - I know they are nice dogs just I don't trust them and Rottie's I am very wary of too, but always keep calm and just walk past them in a nice sociable way - with fingers crossed.

I suppose some people will think of Blackie in that way too, it's just what you are dispostioned to - think that is the word?
