Testing Testing 1,2,3.......

Hello everyone, I am new to his forum and just thought I would introduce myself. I am a proud owner of 2 gorgeous bulldogs! I have read through some of the posts and can see a lot of people have totally the wrong opinion about British Bulldog. My 2 are fit, strong and very healthy and think nothing of their usual 6 mile walk. They are also quite happy romping around the sussex downs when we are down there visiting. I can also say that I have visited a local old time bulldog breeder and was shocked to find out to get to there version they had bred a mastiff and a dogue de bordeaux. The result with a with a british bulldog and then to bring it right down to size the result of that was bred with a Staffy. Can you imagine.......... It was a right old mix of temprements. The other thing I would like to say is that it is not the british bulldogs fualt about way they have been developed but the people who set the breed standard.
right thats got it all off my chest now!!!!!

Hello and welcome, it would be great to see some pics of your pooches!
Although that may have been a mixture of breeds you saw to create that particular OTB it doesn't mean all breeders do the same. I don't own one but there are a couple of people on here that do and may be able to correct me if I'm wrong! Any dog can have a "dodgy" temperament but these particular dogs used may well have been well bred with sound temperaments? I'm not a fan of Bulldogs that are bred for show rather than temperament but it doesn't mean that all of those breeding a more athletic Bulldog are doing it the same incorrect way.
