Interesting, the next time my pups are relaxing I'll count, just curious. I do know Callie has an extra nipple at the base of his hootie. Suppose it's like a birth defect with odd nipples out of place?

I once had a [human] boyfriend who had three extra nipples in a diagonal row from his right one down to his navel.

Just a bit of useless information...

According to my experience, in most cases the number of nipples/teats a K9 has is 8. I have seen a few with 10.
Although I have noticed some males with teats I haven't made it a practice to look for that trait in male K9's.
Even though I have had many, many dogs(according to some people's thinking), oddly enough I haven't seen any with odd(1,3,5,7,etc) number of teats.
And definitely not witnessed that specific trait in humans. Actually not even more than two.
Am I sheltered?

When Lona had 12 babies she was definitely feeding all of them at the same time at first, then she graduated them to a shift system. I never had to supplement feed them at all, although she was on 6 meals a day at one stage!
