Swimming

I had started taking my lab for swimming after reading an article about the health benefits of swimming on dogs ( http://www.soldapools.com/swimming/5...-for-your-dog/ ) and now he is quite enjoying it. Do you know of any kind of dog swimming competitions, not that I plan to enter him now, but just to keep in mind so that maybe me and Mike can try our luck.

Well, there are dock diving competitions. I'm not sure if he leaps off docks or the like, but those always look like great fun!

I have a friend in Canada who does very well with her GSDs at dock diving competitions.

It looks brilliant (if your dog is toy crazy and loves water ) and I am sure my shepherd would love it!

As you are in Canada you could try contacting the Canadian Newfoundland club. Here in the UK the club (There actually two clubs) have several swimming and water related events as Newfies generally love being in water, I'm pretty sure they would be happy for a labrador as well.
