The Kerry Greyhound All-Blacks

Kerry Greyhounds UK always take in black greyhounds and lurchers, but don’t always find them homes easily. It’s a sad fact of rescue that black dogs of any breed are often overlooked simply because of their black coats. But black dogs really are just like any other dog. And what’s more, a black greyhound's coat, when in tip top condition, is a truly beautiful thing. They positively glisten in the sun. They also go with every colour of collar or coat, and their shed hairs don’t show up as much on your clothing. They really are win-win-win!

Please consider helping a black Kerry Greyhound (or lurcher!) by fostering or adopting from us. All our current available hounds are on this forum.

**UPDATED: AUGUST 2013**

~~ KERRY GREYHOUNDS UK ~~

Kerry Greyhounds UK is a voluntary organisation based in Norfolk, England. It focuses on rehoming unwanted Irish greyhounds and lurchers, as huge numbers are bred in Ireland each year and homes are few and far between. KGUK operates through a network of volunteers spread over Ireland and the UK. We can look after approximately 30 dogs at any one time in both kennels and foster homes.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped before being adopted (unless stated otherwise).

We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in all corners of the UK. If interested in one of our hounds, please feel free to contact us.

As the owner of two black dogs..one a bull Lurcher...I find it amazing that they get over looked! So low maintenance in the grooming department! My twos coats rarely have anything done to them and they shine like they are wet all the time. Mud doesn't show, towel it off and the rest dries and then falls off as dust, or brush it off...simple and gorgeous!

I'm not in the position to foster now but hope to be able to in the future.
