Liver problems in elderly dog

Last month I took my 12 year old springer spaniel Justin to the vets for his annual booster, I thought that I should get blood tests done for him due to his age - even though he's shown no outward signs of health problems. The tests showed that he had a high level of enzymes in his liver, so he went again last week for one particular test to be re-done & the enzymes were even higher this time; now he has got to go yet again next week & they are going to do a 'bile acid stimulation' on him, one possibility mentioned by the vet was Cushings Disease.
