Just made a phone call to my late cousin's wife who lost our dearest Cousin over a year ago. My friends in New Zealand asked for their e-mail address as they were too late to send a card and I had to regret that although his son was keeping his boat going and his allotment they do not use the computer any more. I did pass on their Christmas blessings but it would appear that Foulness Island off the coast of Essex is dying as the Church is no more and neither is the village pub, the local school is closed and is used now as a heritage centre. They are fortunate to hold onto a post office but things are bad. Foulness Island for those that do not know is a bird and seal sanctuary as well as being a site for the MOD to experiment with milatory defence mechanisms.

Just heard Actress Billie Whitelaw has died aged 82! She was a brilliant actress in the 60s and 70s but then as the nanny in The Omen and other films since, God Rest her soul.
