Looking for dog collar with metal clasp, not plastic.

Can anyone help?

I saw one on a pup in the ESS thread but she's American and doesn't post anymore so no idea how to get hold of one. Here: http://www.dogsey.com/showthread.php?t=368&page=5 - page 5, KatherineNaomi.

Trouble is, now I've seen it I want one and nothing else will do!!

Any ideas?

Also, at what age will he stop growing? i.e. when will the collar he wears be it.

I couldn't see the picture on the other thread but I saw these at discover dogs in November, not sure if that's the sort of thing you want?

I think this is the post that you mean Pidge?

Must admit, I'm not totally sure that it is metal - it may just be a shiney grey plastic?

Personally I don't think I'd want a lump of metal that big on my dogs' collars - much heavier than the plastic, will get freezing cold in the winter and you'd need to make sure that it was a metal that doesn't rust/discolour.

It does look nice though

ETA - just looked at the link from Pinklizzy and they do look really nice + as they are aluminium, they shouldn't be that heavy.

Yes, they look lovely. Thank you very much. Bit pricey though so it will have to wait ;o)

I wouldn't get one that isn't easy for him to wear. But yes, that is the post.

Try 3 Dirty Dawgz:

http://www.3dirtydawgz.com/striped-dog-collars.html

They are US based, but they ship overseas. They do loads of metal buckle collars. Very pretty designs, too.

We are also attempting to find a collar for our Westie with a metal clasp, we had one, it has to be replaced, and all we can find are plastic things, he breaks free of those in a heartbeat. He weighs 22 pounds, is two years old, and has, literally, yanked me out of my shoes!! Squirrels are the enemy, we are training him, he is such a good boy, but they mercilessly taunt him. And he is NEVER off leash, even though we live in surburbia, in our neighborhood there are very few fences. And and all suggestions welcome!!

Regards,

Finnian's Mom

Did you try the 3 Dirty Dawgz link above? Seems like the website still works. Dogsey has lots of UK members so it's a bit tough for us to recommend places "across the pond" but someone may come along with some ideas soon
