Surgery, mega surgery

Cin's tumours (grade 3 mast cell) have started to torment her on a daily basis, although otherwise she is well in herself, so her specialist has decided that the best we can do for her is to take away as much of the affected muscle and skin as they can, which is a pretty wide area. Its mega surgery.
My poor love went in this morning and will have the op this afternoon, and will loose an awful of of fleshbut the payback is that she will be without torment and itchy for so long as it takes the lumps to come back. We are at the point whereby there is only one other alternative because she is being literally driven insane by it. She tore another jacket this morning, but take away the itchy and sorness, and she's a fully bright and happy dog. If I could not take away the itchy and soreness, there would only be one alternative, and we would be saying our goobyes before the end of the month. I am so very glad they can do this for her now, but I am scared of how things will go. The cancer is being extremely relentless and will not respond to anything.
After her op, she will need a drain (he said nature doesn't like a void and it will fill with fluid otherwise, and so Cindy won't be home until after the weekend.
Please send my girl little love, she needs it.

Oh dear, she has been through the wars during her life hasn't she.

I hope that your dog's torment ends soon.

thanks xx
She's had a few ops, her cruciate being a disaster when complications very nearly lost her her left hind leg. She had a couple of biopsies on lumps as advised by the vet just to make <money??> "sure" but have proved benign, and she's been bitten by other dogs on a number of occasions - never her fault and I am really, really proud of how she's bounced back to her normal, happy, sassy friendly self each time - with a little gentle rehab work, but in her health she's always been blessed with a good constitution.. this cancer is awful tho. The AHT will take her tumours to see what they can learn from them - I faxed them back the form for this lot yesterday.

Everything crossed that Cindy's op goes as well as can be expected and she makes a quick recovery to enjoy her time without the itch

{{{Hugs}}} to you too as it must be a very worrying time.

Poor Cindy and poor you.......I do hope that the op is a success, and that you can very soon have her home again.
