MMMmm Sendaway is a difficult one I started of with a mat to send Wish to and added treats before I sent her then when she got there I asked her to go down were still working on it and I've had trouble with out of sight down stays but this seems to be getting better now and she is beginning to realise mum does come back so might not need to be rounded up after all

Luca is her recall, especially when other dogs are around Shaan is 'quiet' and Storm is 'catch'. She just sits there and looks at you

"Speak on command" is one of the exercises in the U.D. obedience ring. The dog has to speak from three positions - a sit, a stand, and a drop, without moving. This is v. difficult as a dog will usually move forward from any position when it speaks.

In non-competition situations if you can teach your dog to bark on command then you can teach it to stop barking on command.

lel, i think its supposed to be easier to teach a dog to be quiet on command if you have first taught them to speak on command. Although i have failed miserably teaching this to indie, since now she just barks all the time

Murph speaks on command we were told to teach him to speak to the sign of a clenched fist ( supposedly better for protection )
we taught it by ...hold up the fist and say 'speak' and then you have to sort of bark at him ..not dead loud or aggressive more yapping ..he'll get all excited and confused but if you keep saying speak and yapping he will get the jist of it as soon as he makes any noise praise him loads and treat him/her and it will progress to a bark

It did come in handy one day when a friend and I were walking we came across a man who'd had his motorbike stolen ..he'd found a bunch of teenagers with it and had called the police ...the lads were still hanging around and getting braver by the minute they backed away when they saw Murph but again soon regained confidence -a few sneaky 'speaks ' and they backed off again
