Hmm interesting so basically its just 101 animal behaviour. I was just curious if thier attachment to thier kids is as strong as a bond between humans would be, but obviously its not.

When the pups are first born some bitch's get really over protective and won't let anyone near the pups, not even their owners. My bitches were ok except Ruby had the habit of carrying them around in her mouth and wanting them so close to her all the time and took quite a few days to settle down with them and leave them alone to sleep.

A bitch who had pups to Harvey was really maternal and ended up squashing a pup and killing it as no one could get near her to pull the pups out from under her :cry:

To be honest mums try to avoid the pups in the last couple of weeks.......they have very sharp teeth and think it's fun to try and get to the milk bar!!

Tam was actually very sulky for a few days after the pups left. Louise wasn't allowed any of her 'talking' dolls cos if they started crying Tam would get all upset and try to take the doll off Louise

well my only experience was collecting max and i felt awful as if i was stealing him from his mother and i felt soooo guilty and she never even gave him a glance we held him for quite a while in the hall chatting and she was asleep in the living room thinking phew
