Azz, thanks for the update and I'm so sorry that this option is not possible due to the location. I can confirm that with Ria our lovely Labrador the cancerous lump was lower down on her side and a bit further back so not anywhere near her spine and I assume not near any important organs. It was also right on the outside not wraped around any muscles.

What terrible choices you have had to make, but I believe in being optomistic in these situations and I also believe that if you let nature take it's course there can sometimes be surprisingly good outcomes. If Rocky is eating, sleeping, poohing, and running around then he'll be happy and luckily for him he knows nothing about all the stuff you've written above so he won't even be worried about death, we humans tend to think too much about that at times.

How about a few more photos of the old boy when you get time, I'm sure we'd like to see him again.

Just read through the whole thread Azz. I am so sorry for what you are all going through.

FWIW I think you have made the right decision and it is one I would choose too if put in that situation.

Huge hugs to you all xx

Azz - I am so sorry about Rocky but I absolutely agree with your decision 100%. I am totally against putting a dog through several months of stress/discomfort/pain when there is no gurantee of a good outcome. They do not know what is going on and I certainly couldn't put my dog through that without some guarantees. Big hugs to lovely Rocky. xx

Sorry to read this news but agree with you on your decision.

I know when it was confirmed that Jenna's tumour on her toe was cancerous and told that it would spread, but how long it would take no-one was sure, that if she required more invasive treatment then I would not have put here through it at 12 years old. I was lucky I had her for another 14 months before having to make the aweful decision to have her pts but whether it was the tumour or not I don't know.

My thoughts are with you.
