Anyone else remember it this way??

Okay, I confess I never read the proper story of Peter Pan. But I've just read about Nanna being a newfoundland.

I had the disney version on video and I'm sure they had her as a St Bernard

Is it just me going mad? Or did they change her breed?? I can't really remember it very well but I think I just accepted that she was a St Bernard, whether or not it was because I didn't know about Newfoundlands when I was younger, I don't know!

Finally found something on google about Nanna the dog Revision really is that boring.

this site: http://www.ahoyhoy.org/archives/000253.html
Says: Also, most people don't know this, but "Nanna", the dog from Peter Pan is a Landseer Newfoundland.

However, it's only a forum

If the Nanna in the disney film is a St. Bernard it looks like Disney have cocked up again!

Nana in Peter Pan is a Newfoundland. Disney used a St Bernard for the film for some reason but in the original book, she's definitely a Newfie

Thanks Shaynlola!

I thought it must have been Disney that got it wrong! As they usually do!

(I still think Lady looked more like a cavalier than a cocker in the animated film!)

Thanks for clearing that one up for me!

was lady meant to be a cocker? thought she was a cavalier too!

but then, when they have puppies they do have one tramp and the rest are lady lookalikes not crossbreeds. lol.

lol! I know Jenny, I thought she was a cavalier too! until someone here on dogweb pointed out that she was a cocker!

That does happen in real life! Our mongrel dog got out once and impregnated a neighbour's dog and all the pups were identical to him!
