Lump in China's leg Opinions Needed...Thanks (updated post #15)

Hi everyone,

Here is a piccie of china's right rear leg.

She has had a small lump in her leg for a while ( about a yr) which i have been keeping an eye on as im not happy with it...

Well yesterday she sat on the bed and i noticed it had DOUBLED in size!

When i squidge it it is soft and disappears into the skin, she is not in any pain from it from what i can tell,

It doesnt feel directly under the skin poss a bit deeper....

Will be taking her to the vets next week (hence my insurance thread yesterday!)

But your opinions on what it may be wouold be great

PS China is happy and healthy ATM and it doesnt bother her...

Thanks Guys

Alex
xx

ETA: When she walks around its not as visible...

Hi Alex I wouldn't like to speculate because it could be many things . Lumps should always be taken seriously and if possible a needle biopsy done just to be on the safe side (the vet only takes a few cells with a syringe) .

Hope all is well with China

thanks Mini,

I thought a biopsy would need doing...

Seen as it stayed so small (about the size of a 5p) OH and his family said it was most likely a fatty lump (Their springer was full of them...)

But its about the size of a 10p now really quickly....

It hasnt bothered her in the slightest and when i squeeze it she just looks at me like "What are you doing "

I think, as it appears to have grown so quickly, that getting a vet to have a good look is the best option. It's probably nothing serious. Fingers crossed for next week.

Fatty lumps 'lipomas' are nearly aways benign, they tend to have certain characteristics that distinguish them from other tumours so it is best to get any lumps checked to make sure that is indeed all they are.

It is hopefully a fatty lump but best to check. They can get quite big. Our last dog had one which was removed and it did turn out to be a low grade tumour, but they tend not to grow back if removed fully.

Oh just spotted this!

Hope it goes well on Tuesday and the lump is nothing to worry about. Always best to get these things checked I think.

Thinking of you, do let us know how she gets on?
