Feeding my 8 week old Bullmastiff Puppy

Hi there, this is probably thr 500th time this has been asked but our 8 week old bullmastiff puppy is currently being fed Bakers Puppy Complete by the breeder. After doing some research into the composition of the food I will be changing it immediately. I'm not in a position to give my dog a caviar lifestyle but at the same time I want the best for him. I don't think a brand like Orijien is going to be an option to be honest unless a little goes a long long way for the price it is.

I have been looking at Wainwrights and Arden Grange as these seem to be quite popular with good reviews. I am also thinking of incorporating tripe into the pups diet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Before I switched to raw I used Wainwrights wet food trays and Harringtons complete biscuits. I found both of these to be a great price for the quality of food.

Tripe is also a good option, along with other raw bits (see raw food section for all that info!)

Good for you switching away from Bakers!

Wainwrights and Arden Grange are both good choices. Lots of people feed CSJ which appears to be a good quality food for the price.

Word of advice re tripe -

If you have cause to freeze it, allow it to defrost naturally overnight before feeding it to your pup. I found out by experience ( ) that if you defrost it in the microwave it stinks to high heaven!!

Iv fed a few different foods and I would reccomend wainwrights or autarky. However I now feed raw and wouldn't go back to commercial kibble unless I had to, would raw be an option for you?

Hi,
I've bought both my Bullmastiffs up on Arden Grange and they have both done really well. Then went onto Skinners for a year or so but have recently gone back onto Arden Grange and they love it! Good luck with your pup
