Chemical castration drug. (Not Suprelorin)

Can anyone help. My vet uses a tablet that is given as a course for 7 days and lasts for 5-6mths, for chemical castration in males. I cannot remember the name, does anyone know?

Tardak is for the same problem and that is used as a chemical castration. My vet said that it serves the same purpose and is safer, longer lasting and an altogether better drug than Tardak. Dont forget Suprelorin is also for prostatic hypertrophy, likewise all "chemical castrations."

tardak really hardly ever has the desired effect( as in simulating castration)(and only lasts a month)...(why does your vet think ypozane is safer than suprelorin?) end of the day its your call tho

She didnt think it was safer than Suprelorin, she thought it was a newer, better drug than tardak. Suprelorin is much slower to work on prostate problems, Ypozane works much quicker which is why its indicated primarily as used for prostate issues, as it can deal with the issue much quicker and more beneficial to the dog.

I think I would have my dog castrated. I don't like the idea of giving him chemicals, you don't know what damage they can do in the long term.
