Raised Immunoglobulin

My DiL has lost a lot of weight recently, without trying.
She has been to the doctors and they have run a lot of blood tests.
She got a call today to return to have some more done because she has a raised immunoglobulin.
She is understandably very worried (as am I)
I have told her to make a list of questions ready for when she goes back in tomorrow.

Anyone any experience of this? I don't want to Google .... it frightens the life out of me when I do

Immunoglobulin = Antibodies.

Raised when fighting off infection obviously but can be raised for so many reasons it's not worth speculating - best wait to see what the doc says as a result of the further tests.

You're doing the best thing by not googling, that always makes things worse by adding more stress.

Good idea to make a list of questions as it's so easy for the mind to go blank.

My first thought was infection, although there is no obvious cause. Waiting is going to be the worst bit.

There are nearly 50 causes of raised Immunoglobulin so no point in googling it.

I have raised Immunoglobulin levels as I have autoimmune disease caused way back in the late 1960s when over 2 days I have multiple vaccinations. It wasn't diagnosed for over 20 years & now I just have to live with it & am on a cocktail of experimental drugs as I point blank refuse to take any drug that has been animal teated

No ideas sorry Jenny. It is hard not to google isn't it but I think you are wise not too and as you say for your DIL to have her list of questions ready.
I can imagine how worried you are after the health problems with your son recently. (((Hugs))).
