Spoke to new mum last night and apparantly the plan was to try for another baby once she had stopped breastfeeding 1st nephew (who is 3 days old!!)

But boyfriend doesn't want to put SIL through "that kind of pain again"
He was surprised how long labour could be and how much it actually hurt the mum!!

Also... last night SIL complained that the baby wouldn't sleep for more than a couple of hours at a time and she had only had 3 or so hours sleep and was too tired to feed him. She was surprised that he wouldn't sleep through the night!

I think it's one of the problems you get when a young naive girl has a baby. She honestly has no idea about how hard it can be. I've never had kids, but I know that labour hurts and that babies don't often sleep through!

We're off to see him on Wednesday, after all the other relatives have decamped back to Bradford.

My eldest didn't sleep through the night until she was 6 months old.

Sounds like she's gonna need a lot of support with baby until she knows what she's doing.
