Hi Guys..........still no news, I am shattered. We called the vet earlier and she said to wait a while longer as although she was panting, there still wasn't any signs of contractions/pushing.
Well after our earlier phone call to the vet, I called her again at 6pm and told her I wanted her to look at Rosie for me as I wasn't happy with the way things were going.
She took her temp and confirmed she was in labour (which I already knew) she listened to the pups and said they all sounded fine, she said Rosie was rather large, so was guessing at 6+ pups and could tell she was uncomfortable as her respiration was up. She gave her an internal and said she could get both fingers in as far as she could, so no pups stuck in the birth cannel. What she did say was that IF she hadn't whelped by morning, then she suggested a c-section, but didn't want to do it just yet as she could still whelp overnight. Also couldn't give oxytocin as it could cause more damage than good at the moment.
So it looks like yet another sleepless night
