moving ~~ why is it so stressful?

we decided to move house at Easter this year & all has gone well, until this last 2 weeks.
We were scheduled to move the first week in Sept, then we had a proposed date of the 10th, that came & went - so we pushed for 17th ~ we are currently hanging on a thread & have been told it SHOULD be happening this Friday, but nothing is concrete until we exchange contracts (we have signed) why oh why is it all so complicated & why are all the solicitors picking up things NOW that should have been adressed weeks ago.

HI Smudge

We made sure that Contracts were exchanged as soon as possible but there seems to be a trend now where solicitors like to xchange and complete on the same day - God knows why!

There was no way we were gonna pack without xchanging contracts at least 2 weeks b4 completion as imagine the inconviencence had the buyer pulled out?!!!

Tell them you wan tto xchange at least a week b4 completion!!

Good luck!

too late Azz - Tue tomorrow & we complete / move on fri.
I think they all want to exchange Thu - which is crazy - I need to book time off, so does hubby & friends who are helping us - we have to hire a van & can't do this until we are sure.
I don't remember it being like this last time we moved (5 yrs ago)

If we don't move on Friday there will be trouble. :smt062 :smt071 :smt075

We both work full time - so only have weekends for packing, therefore we are now all packed up with just 4 plates / 4 cups a few toiletries & a few clean undies ops: & a few clothes each.

You must tell them how YOU want it - we specified when we wanted to xchange and complete even though they suggested doing it on the same day (Its less work for them that way).

You just gotta put ur foot down.

I think it may be a bit too late for u now as u move on friday

Good luk tho!

Oh I love change Katy, I get a buzz out of it & I love moving - this will be our 3rd house since we married 10 years ago.
I'm sure it will be worth it.
