take us under your wing please

i was just wondereing if anyone out there would consider taking me under their wing?
historically i have had rescue mongrels and now have a beautiful miniature schnauzer from a good line. our groomer said hes show quality and i quite fancy putting this to the test. but i havent a clue in heaven where to begin. so is anyone out there willing and able to talk me through it from the absolute beginning. i am an extremely experienced dog owner but just never been involved in anything like this. carole

I have no idea, I am also looking to show my 10 week old pup. There are many experienced owners on here I am sure you will get some advice and I shall be sneaking a peek too

First find yourself a local ringcraft class and go along.

You will be able to see first hand what is involved and you get to practise without pressure

I echo what leadstaffs has said. Look for a ringcraft class in your area and from their you will be guided and advised along the way. It's the best place to start!

Have you spoken to the breeder? He/she is usually in a good position to assess the potential of one of their puppies, as far as this can be done at a young age. they are also very useful (or should be) at giving you all the help you need. Ringcraft? Yes, essential, and you might find some breed specialists there who you can chat to about trimming etc, and other show preparation.
Good luck!

Can't add anything to what the others have said, hope you are successful and I look forward to hearing how you get on.

I agree with everyone else Im afraid, find a decent ringcraft class. Good luck with it, don't take it too seriously and you'll be fine.
