Max, Staffie x, DOB 13.03.10 - Lambeth, South West London

Max, Staffie x, DOB 13.03.10 - Lambeth, South West London

Homing Requirements: Max needs a family who will appreciate his needs as a young dog. Max needs a garden which is secure and can offer him exercise and fun. Max is proven living with young children; another dog and a cat.

His Story: Max was taken in by his owner as he needed her. He has grown into a medium sized dog and his needs as a young dog are too much for his disabled owner. Max was neutered and chipped 3 months ago and fully vax'd as a pup. Max remains in his home saving him from kennelling.

Advert: Max is a fantastic dog. He is kind, loving, and very pleased to meet everyone. He loves 'his' children; lives with Eli the Yorkie and Frankie the cat. He lives in a flat with a very small garden and, although well socialised and an off lead dog away from streets, he does need a larger garden and longer walkers than he is getting. Max would benefit from training classes.

Max is the size of a medium Staffie x dog. For Staffie crosses read "lots of loving". Very affectionate, very trainable dogs who want to please and are very versatile. They are rarely barky and given routine and stability can be left for periods. They can chew, like Labradors, until they have worked it out of their system usually the year mark, Max's owner stated this on his details Max is a big soft baby likes lots of cuddles and watching TV dog programmes. Bet he does Bless!

If you are interested in re-homing please complete so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

***PLEASE NOTE: We are a rescue finding dogs their forever homes. We usually ask for a minimum donation of £150 at the time of adoption, for each dog, to help us continue helping homeless dogs***.

An update from Lynne on Max who came into kennels and was very scared:

“Have been very worried about Max and reports were he was still cowered in his crate and had not ventured out but his food was in the bowl in front of his crate and it did disappear overnight.

This morning I went to meet Max he was still tucked away in his crate. I spoke to him with kindness, enthusiasm and love and his tail began wagging to all my 'Good boys'. The kennel owner came and told me that overnight he had wee'd and laid parcels and eaten another bowl of food. Yesterday she had moved his crate so he was facing the door and could watch the activity and anyone approaching. She said she hadn’t had such a frightened dog in a long time. Two more occasions and I was up at his door singing to him. Later, the kennel owner came and told me that Max was out in the open kennel space. I went to meet him and he had just gone back in but came out with a little reassuring coaxing and walked to the door and sat and leaned against it after licking me through the bars. We spent a few minutes together but my instincts were to leave it there, not to push him but to get him used to coming and going as is normal within the kennels”.

Max enjoying a cuddle... he's still worried about the world but was happy to trust Lynne and head out for a walk.

Later on this afternoon he was feeling brave enough to come to his door for a treat, so a little Lynne magic clearly worked wonders today.

Scared but so wanting kisses & cuddles

Worried but...

Relaxing

Safe & loved

Lots of fun to come!

Max is currently in boarding kennels and if ever there was a dog that would benefit from some time in a foster home until his forever home comes along, then it’s Max! If you think you could foster Max then please complete our Fostering questionnaire online.

If you are interested in re-homing Max then please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

Sadly our Max fell seriously ill. He had bad diarrhea yesterday and kindly our kennel owners took him to the vets for us. His temperature was raised and he was refusing water and food. He received injections and came back but was found collapsed this morning. He was looking grim yesterday collapsed and unconscious but there was a flicker of awareness reported last tonight.

We heard this morning that he didn't make it. RIP Max ... you were "Maximillion" to us as you were one in a million and our hearts burst with the love you gave and were.
