chasing shadows

how can i stop my 10 month old male rottie from chasing every shadow that catches his eye, i have to sit watching tv at night with my light off because every move i make what casts a shadow he's up and bouncing all over the room, its same when we go walkies and its sunny, he is more interested in the shadow from me then walking .....:
