Strangers and your breed/type of dog

I was having a conversation with a woman as we both were buying wellies to walk the dogs. The conversation got on to what breeds we had and random strangers. We both were surprised at the unusual breeds the other had.

She had a standard schnauzer and said overwhelmingly it was men that gravitated towards him and asked about him. It seems his black shaggyness and beard had men saying "that's my kind of dog" rather than having women cooing over him. I find the majority of my Tibetan Mastiff's admirers are women who love his kind face and fluffy coat, though a fair few men like him for his size and generally being a "proper dog". Older people and children are his favourites though and it makes his day if he gets made a fuss off by a pensioner or pree teen kids.

Do you find certain ages or genders are particularly attracted to your breed more than others?

Cato attracts everybody, men, women, children and the elderly. He's an 11 week old estrela fuzz ball, that might have something to do with it.

Nyle and Storm are popular with a range of people too, that's probably because their labs, though more women than men I'd say.

Old biddies love my Yorkie.

My Slovie has lots of admirers of all types! shame she doesn't understand what they are saying or it might go to her head.

I find that elderly people love my JRT, women love the Estrelas and men and kids love my Malamute. Keiko gets by far the most attention.

I find it's mostly men that are drawn to the Dallies telling me how lovely they are, and children.
