I've not long started riding lessons, have had six so far and loving it.

Does the height of he horse go from floor to shoulder? The horse I have been learning to ride is a couple of inches taller (at the shoulder) than the top of my head (I'm about 5'5). How many hands would he be?

Hi Freya - That would be about 16hh - which is the same height as Smudge. Its a good size for you to learn on as anything smaller will seem like a doddle! I have to say I prefer that size horses - Smudge is 16hh, Josh is 16.2hh, shah is 14hh (and a witch) and Maddie is 12.2 and Maddie is faster than all of them! I only ride Smudge and Josh because I don't want to die (shah)

Barbara - Maddie is soooo funny, she would lick you to bits if she could. She reminds me of a dog - she loves fuss and cuddles and scratches and would be ideal for clicker training tricks too as she is smart
