Thanks I will let my mum know - she will get a rescue dog if she is getting any but its good to hear that its not a lost cause - thanks again

Sam, it's worth your sister getting properly tested to discover exactly what it is she's allergic to. With some people it's the hair that sets them off, others it's the animal's saliva, but most are allergic to the dander (dead skin) that is naturally shed.

There are a couple of dozen breeds that are reputedly suitable for allergy-sufferers; another thing that would be worth checking out.
