Oreo needs a supportive family to offer time and tolerance to allow their new dog to settle. Oreo needs a terrier aware family who provide a safe escape free home territory, ensure his slight preciousness over toys is managed without tease, and his concern over passing cars is supported with distraction and firm safe measures. Oreo can live with other dog (s) but not cats or small furries. Retention on lead outside the home at all times. NB Our Rescue asks owners to maintain dogs on lead in public spaces and manage encounters, as dog law changes place dog's lives at greater risk.

Known background: Oreo was found stray/abandoned in Wales, unclaimed within a council pound. Oreo was passed on to a large Rescue who where unable to find a responsible terrier family to support Oreo's needs, so asked terrierrescue, we took Orea in. Oreo is neutered, chipped, fully vax, wormed and flea treated. Was foster with 2 Parson's Jack Russells in London but another dog's return meant Oreo lost his foster place. Oreo is currently in boarding kennels near Guildford.

About Oreo: Oreo is a sweet biscuit...yummy! A terrier family will find Oreo an accomplished Patterdale, full of fun and will rejoice in his affectionate energy. Good socialiser and proven to live with another dog or 2, providing the other dog isn't reactive to his little grumbles over a precious bone or toy: Humans can coax them from him no problem. Oreo is housetrained, can be left for short periods, travels well secured in a car. Oreo needs attention around roads with passing cars: held on a secure harness and tight lead, with reassurance and distraction towards a treat he settles and improves: Don't pick him up, but support him at his level, reading his fosterer's notes living in Central London shows how his traffic management improved greatly.

Oreo is 4 years old Patterdale, about 15" to the shoulder. Wire haired with a beard, his coat just requires general routine grooming. No skin and fur problems noted, just brief ear infection related to high stress levels in kennels. Oreo loves the sofa and to smooch & share cuddles.
