Henry - 4 year old male Patterdale
Henry, Patterdale, DOB 06.07 - Gatwick
Homing Requirements: Henry needs a family with their feet on the floor type terrier experience. If you are holding his LEAD and controlling, he will meet dogs respectfully when he isn’t given an inch. If he is freewheeling at the end of a lead or off lead he will have incidents with other dogs. Henry is fine with older children but needs supervision around young children who should not be 'live in'. Terriers can get caught up if children are squealing and running and Henry is one. Secure terrier proof garden with exit management.
His Story: Henry was bought home as a pup to live with a 1 year old Labrador. Henry had a few incidents outside with dogs which made his owners appreciate they had a 'working type' terrier who needed a specific type of management. A baby's arrival proved too stressful for Henry. He was kept separate until we could take him in. Neutered, chipped and vax'd.
Advert: Henry is a great Patterdale who has a very affable feel. In terrier hands he is very malleable and responsive. He might become a loose cannon if he gets a sense his encounters are down to him. On the whole he is meeting dogs really well in our controlled way, where we promote trust. Henry has grown up with a Labrador who has always been his friend. Henry has never been allowed on furniture or upstairs. He is housetrained and travels well in the car.
Henry is a 'blue' Patterdale from working roots. He is a stunner and has a very loving sweet temperament to go with his looks. In terrier rescue he has proved himself a gem. He has a great attachment to his green ball, a little obsessive, so needs specific 'treat times' for it. Henry needs an active life style where his walks are about exploring, having a run and fun. He is a great companion.
