Christmas trees, rent one ..

I have just seen an item on the local TV about Primrose Vale Farm in Gloucestershire who rent out Christmas trees in tubs .

You can have the same tree every year if you wish and renting can costs less that buying one .
I don't have a tree but think it is a fantastic idea

I like that you can have the same one every year - you can watch it grow

And much more environmentally friendly I would imagine than cutting down a tree to put in the bin a month late (although I do love having a real tree so ignore this point until January )

Well I don't know what type of tree they are offering but if it's Spruce (or even Pine) it will be going through your ceiling after two years it's amazing how fast they grow.

Hi Harvey apparently not because they are grown in containers.

One woman had given hers a name and had the same one for a number of years .
You return the trees by 12 night and they go in a special nursery area where they are cared for until the next year .

I LOVE this idea, wonders if I could start a similar thing up around here... I can start the pines off growing in Tilly's bottom then pot them on!!!!

But seriously what a fab idea, so much more environmentally friendly, BUT it might put the tree farmers out of business... but not if everyone with a fake tree did this...
