Implant fitted yesterday...

Sorry lads this is more of a girls thread

I had a contraceptive implant put in my arm yesterday. Now my arm is really hurting, think the anesthetic is wearing off...

I was just wondering has anyone else had one and when will my arm stop hurting ???

Don't know, I have a hrt implant but thats put in my tummy, it's quite chunky and requires an incision, it bruises quite badly, dressing comes off after a few days and its quite tender to touch for about a week, but doesn't hurt if i don't touch it. Thought the contraceptive ones were much more slimline like a match. mines more like the diameter of a pencil but only about half inch long.

Yes its like a tiny fuse, really weird as i can feel it in my arm. I'll probably just remove the bandage later and take the pain

Brilliant link fred, wish the Hrt one lasted 3 years, mine has to be replaced every 4-6 months only problem is you can't tell how long its going to last, first couple lasted 4 months and once I thought I knew how long it would last stopped taking much notice. Problem is the current one is now into month 8 and although I can feel it getting tiny it's still working. Good job this one is quite close to the surface. Will have to make sure the next one is too. Usually takes about a month to get an appointment though so have booked one for the end of the month. God help the world if my Hrt runs out.
