OMG I'm really glad I posted this as it has made me realise I am so cr@p at this. I really do just get up and go, without planning or thinking about the consequences. . If I were advising someone else I would tell them exactly what you guys have said.

Thnak you.

I always make sure my mobile has a fully charged battery, and the number for the breakdown co. is in the car before I set off. There's a lot of very rural roads here without a phone box in sight. At night it can be a very scary place

I have the breakdown card, with number on, in my tax disc holder. So it's always there, and I can't forget it!
I also keep about £2 in change, incase my phone does happen to run out, and I have to use a payphone.

Eek feel really thick now. I must be the only idiot in the UK who goes out with nothing but doggie things and house keys (and I forgot those the other day - had to climb a six foot fence to get in the back - which I had stupidly left unlocked )

I think I've learned my lesson.

Also if you have a car battery charger for your phone leave it in the car, there is nothing worst than having a phone that has a flat battery.

You'll be pleased to hear I thought of you all this morning and remembered my phone. Thank you for taking me seriously :smt058

Thanks Steve for the advice on what to do in the event I forget all this stuff (not that I'd dare now. )
