Show us your show dogs - just being dogs!!!

Since opening my shop several months ago I have heard many comments from people about their dogs being 'proper' dogs not show dogs because they get to run and get dirty etc. It's a common misconception that show dogs are prissy creatures which are never allowed to play and get filthy. In fact I have found that all the show people I know exercise their dogs rain or shine. My two are always minging and smelly - that is until the day before a show when they are bathed, and I have to attempt to keep them reasonably clean and poo free for twelve hours - no mean feat I can assure you!

So let's destroy the myth of show dogs being kept in a cupboard, and show all what their lives are really like...muddy and happy!

Did someone mention mud?????

Tango doesn't do mud but she likes to run and dance offlead.

ETA See...I homed in on the word mud...not show...although we may show Cosmo just for a laugh at some point! Cosmo did inherit his dirty tricks from his parents though...both of whom are show dogs (but mummy works too!!!)

Just typed out and uploaded some images and then realised it was for show dogs and Monty is no show dog! Although he did win 3rd Most Handsome Dog once!

I know...I did the same but actually posted..then had to add a disclaimer on at the end of the post. Tango will never be shown...but we have toyed with the idea of showing Cosmo, just a couple of small open shows. Probably never will...but we'll see. So...does he count as nearly a show dog...almost a show dog...perhaps a show dog?!

I was chuffed to bits today when the vet told me that Monty was a fine example of his breed and had i considered using him as a stud. If Monty didn't have marks on his head i would've more seriously considered showing him properly.
