Progress

Very pleased with Rosie today, we went for a walk in the rain and did a fair bit of work on reliability of recall.

Being wet there weren't many other people about so I felt more confident about her being off lead, and I let her head off exploring then recalled and treated (with a clicker also).

I was worried at one point when she found a gap in the hedge and went tearing off across a field after a crow, which just sat there. However, I tooted the whistle and called and as she turned clicked the clicker, as fast as she had headed off she returned and although I had to guide her back to the gap it was what I would call a pretty good recall. Previously if she was distracted recall has been poor so I saw it as a big improvement and one of several where she'd found something interesting and still recalled.

Plenty of work still to do, repeating and reinforcing and we've not yet tested with another dog distracting her, but I'm really pleased with her progress today.
