Kennel Bred or Home Bred?

Just wondered what other peoples opinions were, just out of curiosity.

Personally, I prefer home bred as I would like my 8 week old pup to already be used to a home environment, like the noises of general day to day life, the washing machine, television, other people etc.

What are the pros and cons of each that you believe to be true?

Thoughts and opinions on this one please!

Totally depends....home bred can bad ,kennel bred can be good!
I purchased all my present dogs from kennels. All pups are born and raised for the first 5 weeks or so in the house then go out inot kennels. This means they are all used to everyday house noises etc.

What do you think it depends on? And what do you think are the good and bad points of both?

What do you call kennel bred? If its born and raised indoors for a few weeks and then put into kennles which is it?
I think its down to the individual breeder.Just because a dog is born in the home doesn't mean it will be well bred or well raised....and just because a dog is born at a kennels doesn't mean it won't be raised properly and well socialised.
I want a puppy who is bred from healthy tested parents, who is bred from typical breed examples and whos pedigrees and breed lines have been researched.
I want a puppy from a breeder who I can rely on in the future for advice and assistance and who makes me feel comfortable and secure in the communication and advise I recieve.
I want a breeder who is more concerned about the puppy welfare and future than the money and if this means asking prying questions so be it.

Kennel bred and raised outdoors - kennel bred. Home bred and raised indoors - home bred. I would rather pups be inside till they go to their new homes and not put in to a kennels when they are a few weeks old.

I don't think that all dogs that are bred in kennels are not good dogs. I'm sure there are good breeders out there who rear their litters in kennels and have very good dogs. It's just my preferance, that's all.

I know all this and I do agree. I asked what you prefer and why and what you think the advantages and disadvantages to both are. Just curious about other peoples views on this, that's all.

I personally don't think there is much difference. If you choose a reputable and ethical breeder the puppies will be socialised whether in a kennel or in a house.

So therefore my answer to your question is I have no preference.

Would agree with that. Just as long as everything is done right.

Plus a lot depends on breed of dog and size of litter.

I've had both types and as all were well reared and cared for it made no difference.

As an aside a litter could be raised indoors but if they are in a cage in a room with loads of other bitches and pups in cages that wouldn't ba a good start
