Castrated Dogs

As I've always owned Bitches I have what might be a naive question for you.

Do castrated males still get frisky and flash their manhood about?

I put it as nicely as I could think

My male who was neutered (not by me) at 6 months has never shown any sexual behaviour ... Nor have I seen you know what!!

Yes they can, they can also scent mark

And mount and tie with a bitch.

I have 3 neutered males, 1 has never shown any interest in friskiness, 1 will try it on with my bitches and the 3rd would be obsessed if left to his own devices.

Rogan was castrated by the Dogs Trust at 9 months, before we could rehome him, though I've never seen any...dodgy bits! His best doggy friend is an entire Labrador bitch of the same age (1 y/o), and he was very sniffy when she was in season, and sometimes humps her when they're playing. He's not obsessive though.

Our dog (ex Dogs Trust) was castrated before we brought him home........he was somewhere in his early teens at the time we think Who knows!!!

His scent marking habits disappeared, as did his dog aggression BUT - as a member on here will vouch - his sexual urges are still there!! To an embarrassing degree actually

The dogsey member and her dear young JRT came to join us for a walk, during which time the pair had a whale of a time and got on famously. We all came back here for a coffee, and Jimmi immediately set about this poor little bitch - and he knew exactly what he was doing and how to do it!!! I have no doubt at all that given the chance he would have gone through the whole procedure; as it was, he was quite distressed to be removed from her presence and his excitement was more than evident if you know what I mean.

They can and do EVERYTHING an entire dog does except produce puppies. That includes trying to!

I have never had any trouble with any of my castrated males getting frisky or showing off their manhood.

I can certainly vouch for that!

Had a castrated male here who was down on advice of the powers that be, he became WORSE with humping, leg cocking, confrontation of other males, gobby towards me, posessive over things/his space etc. Wouldn't do it again unless medical reasoning, Hunter's conkers can stay firmly in place!
