hurt my thumb

just to let you know ... ive hurt my thumb!!! , last night while shutting my backdoor , i somehow left my thumb in the hidge side of the door , and trapped it big time! wow it hurt and of course mark was out and kids in bed , so i had to phone my nexr door neighbour , cos i was on verge of passing out (im normally not a wuss ) she came round and sat with me tilll mark got back which was only about 10 mins .. when he saw my thumb it was a rather quick drive to casualty ...were the lovely nurse gave me a pain killing injection !....sheer bliss anyway she tidied my thumb up ..she thinks its broken at the end cos it was so swollen and i have a inch long cut along the base of my nail i have it strapped up and have to keep it raised.. i have to go back to hospital today to have my nail drilled to release the build of blood and also it check swelling and have an e-ray .

the morale of this story is "keep fingers away from doors" i must tell my kids twenty times a day to watch their fingers so its backfired a bit

Ooh sounded nasty want to be more careful next time,i know what you mean by telling the kids to keep fingers from doors but its always us grown ups who never listen to our own advice

doors can be nasty. My friends little boy shut his finger in one years ago and lost the tip. They couldn't sow it back on as there dog ate it. Funny now but not at the time. Hope you fell better soon.

Hope all goes well at the hospital. Don't worry about the nail drilling, it'll feel much better once it's drained and maybe Arnica tablets might help with the bruising and swelling.

poor thing (((hugs))) i trapped my finger in the hinge end of the door when i wass 8, it took the top bit of my finger off, they sew it back on but ive never had feelings in it since and it doesnt look nice
