Flint ~ Stunning Mannered Boy – 4yo Blue Greyhound

FLINT

Flint is a 4 year old greyhound boy who was originally bred for racing but has never actually raced. He has been handed over to KGC along with his 2 other littermates to find him a loving home.

Flint is a stunning big blue boy with a little white patch on his chest that resembles an upside down heart. He is in fabulous condition and his coat is silky soft to the touch. He has been treated for a broken front leg in the past but this has completely healed now and poses him no problems.

Flint has a lovely temperament and is a nice, well rounded boy. He loves to be with people, and has very good manners around visiting children of between 2 and 4 years of age. He is calm and affectionate and is going to really love being part of a family.

Flint has been very good with the other dogs he has met and enjoys making new friends when out on walks. He gets along happily with the resident Jack Russells, even when they try to wind him up! Flint loves going for walks and trips in the car, is excellent around traffic and walks nicely on the lead.

Flint has not yet had a chance to experience a home environment, so new owners will need to be a bit patient initially and give him time to learn the house rules. It generally takes greyhounds 10-14 days to start to settle in a home, and really all they need is time and patience.

Like most greyhounds, Flint is a total couch potato and does not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a safe area once or twice a week.

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

Flint is currently being kennelled in Co. Wexford, Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick him up. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting the gorgeous Flint, please email me for our adoption application form and information pack. Thanks!
