Puppy Training in Warrington

Hi all,

This might be a bit of a long shot but worth a try for the chance of a good recommendation.

It's been a year since I had my GSD put to sleep and we've just got our first dog since that. She's a JRT - Whippet cross called 'Olly' and is 6 months old. She already seems to be house trained, only had the one accident and that was in the night.

I'm looking for a local weekly group training session I can go to. My biggest regret with Max (GSD) is that I didn't have him from a pup and could only train him so far. I want to start socialising Olly right away and get her behaviour training whilst she is still a pup.

We live in Woolston, Warrington in the North West. Does anybody have a trainer or training group in that area to recommend?

Kyle

Hi Kyle if you contact one of the APDT trainers in your area they should be able to advise about local training classes where positive reinforcement methods of training are used.

APDT trainers are usually happy for you to go and sit in on a class before signing up.
List of trainers here....

Cheers for this I was going to start a thread earlier asking about a better place for Momo. I'm not overly keen on some of the methods used by the dog trainer we are using at the moment. That and after out tip to the beach I think I need more help with her.

I phoned them and they have given me the number of a behaviourist. We were on the phone for over half an hour I'm going to put in some ground work and start meeting up for training after the kids go back to school. So thank you very much.

There is a girl who holds a puppy course in the Scout hut in Stockton Heath warrington.....i will nip off and try and find the link. She is very good and uses positive reinforcement.

Here is her link but seems she is on maternity leave right now!
