Decent TV programs - only after midnight?

Seems to me that 90 per cent of TV programs are cheap rubbish until after midnight. Come that magic hour and the programs vastly improve with better informative programs.

Is it because the general public prefer to watch American junk - soaps -trashy game shows and talent contest or even sports.

TV has definitely gone down the pan. All these channels and absolutely nothing worth watching.
I'm hard pressed to find anything to watch ... but I only have Freeview.

Thank gawd for forums hey .
Okay, I do admit to watching the current repeats of Star Trek ... Captain Kirk is quite dishy

TV only reflects the state of society in general, humans are the problem, eliminate them and all will be good, wasn't it the Klingons who were trying to do that to Capt. Kirk

Trouble is most programmes are repeats especially during the day. I watched a film this afternoon, a Hercule Poirot, Evil under the Sun starring a young Maggie Smith, Peter Ustinov and James Mason to name a few. It was good but the acting so very different to today.

All those baddies to choose from ... that's what's missing now. How do you get baddies in cookery programmes.

Different as in better?
Do you know whenever I watch old stuff I always get the feeling they actually enjoyed acting their parts.
Now ... some seem to go through it by rote and are very wooden or are too busy preening before the camera lens.

Boy .. I sound cynical, jaded and grumpy don't I

sags, there were some fine actors in this film and I suppose what I mean by different is that it seems very old fashioned now.

The soaps have become misery and disaster, the comedy programmes are either smutty or slapstick and I ain't no cook!

These days, I spend a lot of time reading when once I would have watched the TV.

I do watch (sorta) the soaps, but more out of habit than really being interested in them
