Back from the vets

Had Kingsley at the vets today to have his staple taken out of his head.
I also wanted the vet to check out his breathing, as he seems to 'wheeze' sometimes.

Well, Kingsley got worked up in such a state! He was crying and panting and barking - it was so unlike him! I think he remembered when they put the staple in - they really hurt him!

It took about 5 mins to manage to hold him still long enough for the staple to be taken out, but it was painless for him!

Checking his breathing was as hard! He was still worked up, so I had to hold his mouth closed to stop him panting

The vet said it's hard to tell, because his heart was beating so fast from being worked up anyway.
But it mainly sounds ok. There could be a little fluid on his lungs, but unless he carries on wheezing, and it gets worse, theres no point putting him on medication, as he seems bright and alert, and ok in himself! (He's nearly 9 now)

Ah Hevvur Poor little Kingsley is in the wars at the moment The poor little chap was probably in shock when he had the staples in after the fight and must have been in such a state. Try not to be too 'sympathetic' at the vets, I know how hard it is, Amy is the same. Try to be cheerful and confident and jolly him along, your tone of voice is so important. Give him lots of cuddles at home

Thanks everyone

The vet said the wound has healed well, as there is hardly any scar!

At the vets I just talked to him while the vet was trying to get the staple out, and tried to hold him still, but he's a strong little fellow, considering how small he is!
