humping problems

ok.. this will sound weird.. but indie keeps wanting to hump my arm
Its turnin into a bit of a problem, cos all she does is want to hump and she'll bark at u til u give her your arm ops:

Does anyone else have this problem?
Indie started humping when she was 14weeks old. And now she wants to do it all the time

Don't let her do this!! Its a sign of dominance, and you have to stop it!! If you have to scruff her, or dare I say it (and only if she needs it, mind!!) pin her down and growl "no" in as deep and threatning a voice you can.

Indie will be a powerful dog one day. You cannot let her do this when she is a baby!!

oooo, sad to say ive tried to scruff thing, for when she gets over excited and bites. but she just wriggles round and bites me hard
And ive heard these sorts of things are bad ideas, especially with powerful dogs. I heard a story where a man had a rottie or sumin and did the pinning down on his back, inevitably the rottie bit him.

ohhhh i dunno. Maybe jus a sharp 'no'.

Thats cause he did it too late Jenny!! The dog was protecting his status as alpha. I would never even dream of doing that to Penny, but I know that if I had to I could!!

Well if you don't want to do that, do you have a crate you can put her in for a time out? Or put her in the bathroom. You cannot let her do this! Not to you!

At the risk of being burnt at the stake I agree with Gordon Lover -don't let her do it -really use your voice as loud and deep as you can .
If you've tried the scruffing and she wriggles out of it then its not going to work .
Alot of peeps have this thing about the 'alpha' roll or scruffing or whatever they want to call it and alot don't like it
I've used it on Murph when he was younger ( but only for serious stuff ) its something you can't do three years down the line .
Murph tried to hump my youngest son -and we just weren't gonna have it -so he was scruffed and pinned and released -as quick as it took to read it -he's NEVER tried it again
