I just won a victory over my job centre after they gave me problems for the last three months, just bought a laptop with the cash I got back and it's running win8, took a while to get used to and I till prefer win7 tbh, but, I'm getting used to it.

You got any problems you need help with? just let me know I should be able to help (hopefully)

There you go! Your own personal Win8 advisor!

All the new OSs are a pain to begin with really aren't they? But I don't like to switch over too early on when they are still ironing out loads of glitches.

I remember longing to put XP Pro back on my laptop when it came with Win7. They actually included a disk with XP on it as so many didn't want the new Win7!

But I stuck with it and have stopped yearning for XP Pro now.

I asked Effie, my computer guy, about Windows 8 when he was last here to do the finishing program touches to my latest computer. He is a qualified/certified Microsoft Engineer/Trainer and is running W8 on one of his many test computers, and his comment was that if I ever need him to build me yet another computer to stick to W7 until W9 comes out - by which time I will either be 6' under or too gaga to use a computer.

He really does not like it.

Mind you when he took my last computer but two and first left me with a loan computer running W7 I hated it and could not wait to get my own computer running XP Pro back. For 24 hours I cursed W7 then telephoned him and asked him to please get W7 for me and install it!

I've got windows 8 on my new laptop and although it drove me mad the first day I now can't think what it was that annoyed me about it. It's really simple. What is it that's defeating you?

I find it very annoying too, everything so different & i detest not having the start icons at bottom instead having to put your pointer on the top right hand corner hoping the icons appear, what happens someday if they dont!!!

Sorry to sound annoying but it's bottom right corner for the shutdown/search icons!
