New and in need of help!

Hi, I'm after some help/advice. My 5 year old Cocker Spaniel is just home after having spinal surgery. We have been advised that George could do with going on a diet, they have recommended that he has chappie. I'm just not sure exactly how much to give him for weight loss. He weighs 16.4kg at mo. Thank you in advance
Sarah.

What do you currently feed, reducing the amount of his current food would be the first option.
Are they recommending Chappie wet or dry? Has he ever had Chappie before?
I feed raw so not a great deal of help, it's easier to control weight on raw by reducing the intake and most dogs are more than happy on it.
