How to stop a rug slipping on the carpet

I have a rug in front of my fire in the living room, and it 'walks' along the floor whenever it is walked over, either by us, or Teagan.
Every time I get up, I have to move it off the hearth!
Is there anything I can use to stop it slipping all the time?!

Get one of those anti slip mats for under your rug. Ikea do them for about £4 and the likes of Harveys & Carpet Right do them for a bit more. We've got one under our lounge rug and it doesn't budge, even when Danny is playing tug on it

Is this what you mean?

If so, does it work for a rug placed on a carpet? As all the ones I saw were rugs on laminate type flooring!

Yeah, that's it. It's made of rubber so it basically stops the rug slipping. My mum has one under her rug on top of a carpet and it works a treat.

Ikea do a couple of different sizes but they are easily trimmable

Think that would be more expensive than what Minky suggested too!
