Has anyone seen "Withnail & I" ?

The best British film, if not the best ever film, I've seen. Set in the early 70's, it's about two out of work thespians living in a grungy London flat. They head off to a cottage the country for revitalisation/recouperation from their hard drinking and drug addled lives. I never tire of watching it but most people I speak to have never heard of it. However those who see it afterwards love it.
The comedy is IMHO untouchable.

If you're weary of the rubbish constantly churned out by Hollywood and want to see a 'real' story brilliantly acted; get this film!!

I agree Cat - it's a great film. I also had never heard of it - my daughter pointed me in it's direction.

I saw it years ago,it was the favourite film of an old boyfriend....
