Its funny you say that because one of the trainers made a comment, she said that when she is in the water floating, waiting to be rescued they have to be so careful when they tell Whiz the newfy to jump from the boat as he is 13st and if he landed on the person in the water it could cause serious injuries (i had never thought about how nerve racking it could be having 13 stone of dog jumping right next to you like that.

Don't think i will be volunteering to be in the water for a little bit

Very cool pics! Several years ago a dog person in my area adapted the Newfoundland test to all breeds and created an organization called WETDOG. I'm a member, and Moxie is certified in water rescue. Here is a link to the website. http://www.wetdog.org/

Fantastic Jess, I've enjoyed reading your post

I watched a progamme a few months ago about Newfie's doing water rescue and it was amazing. Is it Newfie's that have webbed feet?
