Sore paws

So this last wee while Dougal has had red sore paws, I couldn't work out what was causing it. Also he's been hobbling a bit, I thought he was just stiff from our walk (and his mad gallop) with my friend and her dog Brock last week but it's not going away so getting the vet to check that out too...

Hoping all goes well and the vet works out what has caused it.

It's the grass apparently. He's been given a steroid injection, and I've been told to give him Piriton twice a day during the summer. Also to wash off his paws and belly whenever he is out in the grass.

Good excuse to FINALLY buy the lawnmower I have been asking for for years.

Good news that they know what it is......just a shame it is something so common! Would he wear the dog booties?

Doubtful, he's wary about having his paws touched at all in the first place, never mind putting something on them, I can just see him in purple booties though

Thanks guys,

Already the redness has disappeared from between his toes, ears and from round his mouth. It's really good, he's looking way better, and he's not licking at his paws at all now. Really happy with that.

Got him a new collar too, reflective yellow and orange. It's his winter collar, I know he's white but I still know that drivers are going to pay no attention in winter, had too many near misses last year.
