The Time Travellers Dogs.

Today Louie and Pennie travelled back to the 1940's.

First they were transported to a Lake with lots of Mirror Carp and a nice fountain.

Next they saw a 40's ambulance.

Recoiless gun.

British Land Army.

Louie with the Germans.

And the Americans.

And the Home Guard.

Then they came back to present time, where the police were waiting for them.

Thanks for looking

It was exhausting. All that spinning in the transporter! Took it out of me and I've just woke up from a nap

(Papplewick Pumping Station in Notts if anyones interested. Last day tomorrow 11am - 4pm)

The dogs did brilliantly when the battle was on. Pennie was a little iffy about the guns at first but sat still, albeit tense, however I was told the guns are louder than they would be out on a shoot. Louie just sat on my foot the entire battle waiting for his "daddy" to come back. I'd took them off away from it, however found that I wasn't too far away from it. But all in all a great day, the dogs were loved by the folk on the stands (would you call them that?) and also the police loved them too One little boy even tried to give Pennie his sandwich, which she would've obliged to but when told to leave she did.

Sadly I didn't but I do have a photo of me dressed up as an Italian wench somewhere on his Dad's camera. He was invited back when Lou was a pup to do a renactment sort of like this. I'm pretty sure Pennie has eaten the shoes though. A lot of finely dressed folk though. I went in jeans and pink wellies.

They're the clowns. I wish I had taken my camera, would've gotten far more pictures.

We did, we went before lunch without the dogs because I wasn't sure they were allowed. Then we kept seeing lots of dogs. So when we discovered the cafe only sold sausage rolls and pasties - neither of which I like, we went home had something to eat and went back again.

Can you see the "really?" in his eyes I thought it'd be something different for them. The "Americans" wanted to make him one of their own.. they gave me a bar of chocolate too, but it was dark and I don't like dark chocolate - plus with rationing.. thought it would be best to pass on it..

Louie's been to a renactment before but he was 12 weeks old at the time. Pen's tail remained passive unless someone came to fuss her. She wasn't that pleased at all but then she's used to just crashing about, she's never really had to do this sort of thing. So it was something different to them. Being by a lake and not being allowed to go in confused them greatly as well!
